Log Cabin Museum in Port Orchard Washington is owned and operated by the Sidney Museum and Arts Associatio, a group of local people dedicated to the preservation of the history and artifacts of the South kitsap area. The museum currently houses changing exhibits of home life in the area during the past 100 years.
The Log Cabin Museum is located on its original site, one of the original town of Sidney plots that measure 60 feet in width fronting on Sidney Avenue. The cabin was built in 1914 and after sitting vacant for some years was condemned by the city in 1970. It was scheduled to be burned for practice by the fire dept but was saved by volunteer efforts.
