Cowlitz County Historical Museum in Kelso Washington. The Museum recounts the history of the area in its reproductions of pioneer rooms and a general store. The main gallery contains the exhibit “Cowlitz Corridor: Footpath to Freeway,” portraying settlement and transportation from the period prior to European settlement to the present. Other exhibits include portions of a loggers’ bunkhouse, a railroad depot, a 1925 Model “T” truck, a reassembled log cabin with period furnishings, a Cowlitz Indian canoe and other Cowlitz artifacts. One gallery is devoted to temporary exhibits. Museum hours: Tuesday-Saturday, 9:00 to 5:00. Open Sunday, 1:00 to 5:00. Closed Monday. Visit our website at http://www.cowlitzcounty.org/museum
