Fishing in Mineral Lake – Lewis County Fishing

Fishing in Mineral Lake – Lewis CountyUnquestionably Lewis County’s top trout fishing lake. Mineral Lake is one of the best in all of Western Washington-Mineral Lake has a reputation not only for giving up limits of quality fish, but for the trophy class trout of five to 10 pounds and bigger people catch in this beautiful lake.

Not everyone fishing Mineral is going to catch a trophy trout here, but it does tend to treat anglers very generously. Both rainbows and browns put on weight fast in this rich lake, so anglers complain neither about the quality nor the quantity of their catch. As if plants of 100,000 fingerling rainbows a year weren’t enough to keep things interesting, Mineral is also stocked with large numbers of brown trout, brood stock, and triploid rainbows. Still fishing with Berkley Power Bait produces some of the larger rainbows, but trolling is also lucrative. Since brown trout were added to the Mineral Lake a few years ago, the good fishing tends to last much longer than before, and usually well into summer.

Mineral Lake is a popular fishing spot The key is to arrive early and be patient. The fishing is worth the wait. And so is the impressive view of Mount Rainier looming over the lake.
