Fishing in Kress Lake – Cowlitz CountyKress Lake is located near Kalama Washington in Cowlitz County. Kress Lake is owned by The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife and is a small easily accessible lake that is great for teaching kids how to fish.

Kress Lake can be fished year around by boat or from shore. (No Motors). The Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife plants assorted all kinds of fish in the lake annually. It has been planted at one time or another with trout, steelhead and channel catfish. There is also a population of bass, bluegill and pumpkinseed sunfish. Fish hawks compete for the fishing. It is wheelchair assessable.

From I-5 take exit 32, turn east on Kalama River rd., go 0.3 miles, turn left on old hwy 99, go 0.3 miles, turn right into access.
