Swan Lake Campground (3640′ elevation) is located 14 miles southwest of the town of Republic, WA. This 52 acre lake is home to great fishing for Brook, Rainbow, and Cutthroat Trout. The use of combustion motors is prohibited on the lake. In the Campground there are 21 sites, an additional 4 tent only walk-in sites, a sandy day use beach, small boat launch, fishing dock, 2 swimming docks, and a CCC-built group Kitchen (constructed in 1936, and historically preserved in 2009). The Kitchen is open air, has a stone fireplace, several picnic tables, fire rings, vault toilet at Parking Area, drinking water faucet, and access to Swan Lake and nearby trails.

The Forest Service, in cooperation with Spokane Parks and Recreation, hosts a Fall Camping Fest at Swan Lake Campground. This consists of free camping, mountain biking, hiking events, kids’ events, Dutch oven cooking clinic, and/or campfire programs for the whole family. The Kitchen is the site of these events, and will be closed for reservation during the last full week and weekend of September. from Sep 08 2010 to Sep 30 2010

From Republic, WA:Travel south on Hwy 21 for approximately 7 miles. Turn right on FS road 53 (Scatter Creek Road). Travel on paved road for approximately 7 miles, enter Swan Lake Campground. Stay on main road through campground (signs will direct towards kitchen), road ends at Kitchen Parking Area. Kitchen Parking Area is gated with a Combination Lock. The combination for this lock can be obtained from the Republic Ranger District Office after reservations have been made: (509)775-7400.
