Located in northeast Washington on the Pend Oreille River, Pioneer Campground is surrounded by a variety of trees including, ponderosa pine, white pine, hemlock and grand fir trees. There is an interpretive nature trail and a boat launch area for campers to use. Activities include hiking, swimming, fishing and boating. Day use picnic facilities are also available.
Pioneer campground is opened from mid-May through Labor Day. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date.

Gates are locked from 10 pm – 6 am. Please call ahead to make arrangements or walk in and find the host for late arrivals.
This campground has first-come, first-served sites.
There is limited parking available, extra vehicles (more than one per site on single sites) will be charged an extra vehicle fee.
CAUTION: Bears/cougars frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers.
No ATV’s or ORV’s allowed.

Driving direction
From downtown Newport, travel east on US Hwy 2 for 0.75 mile. Immediately after crossing the Pend Oreille River bridge, turn left on LeClerc Road and travel 2 miles north to the campground.
