Set in a heavily forested area, the Panhandle Campground is located in northeast Washington on the Pend Oreille River. Panhandle Campground is a newly remodeled campground in an open grove ponderosa pine and Douglas fir setting on the bank of the Pend Oreille River. Boat ramp at campground. Enjoy fishing for perch, crappie, bass, rainbow and brown trout. Supplies available at Usk, Ione or Newport. Firewood is sold on site. Whitetail deer and black bears are common to the area. There are a total of 13 sites with a maximum spur of 32 feet.
Panhandle campground is opened from mid-May through Labor Day. Reservations can be made up to six months in advance, but must be made at least 4 days prior to your intended arrival date. Best Time to Visit: Panhandle Campground is open May through September.

Gates are locked from 10 pm – 6 am. Please call ahead to make arrangements or walk in and find the host for late arrivals.
This campground has first-come, first-served sites.
There is limited parking available, extra vehicles (more than one per site on single sites) will be charged an extra vehicle fee.
CAUTION: Bears/cougars frequent the area. All food must be kept in approved containers.

Driving direction
From downtown Newport, travel east on US Hwy 2 for 0.75 mile. Immediately after crossing the Pend Oreille River Bridge, turn left on LeCLerc Road and travel 32 miles north to Panhandle Campground.
